It’s Not All You

Everything in our external experience

is a mirror of our inner world,

and we are always being shown

places within ourselves that still need healing.

It is very important to work with

what is being reflected to us

and take responsibility for it

to the best of our ability

so that we are not victimized by it.

Some people and situations

are in our lives solely

to remind us of

the unhealed parts of ourselves.

This may provoke a lot of pain,

and until we respond differently,

it may feel as if we are trapped

reliving a painful past,

repeating old patterns

of rejection, fear,

and self-judgment.

While it is our responsibility to do the work,

any, and I mean ANY situation

that consistently makes you

question your worth,

abilities, sanity,

or right to share how you feel

is not a good situation for you to remain in.

Situations that are healthy for you

won't always be easy,

but they won't consistently

make you feel bad about who you are as a person.
