Frequently Asked Questions

  • How did you get into this work?

I would say that I got into healing work out of necessity. I grew up in an alcoholic, abusive home, and lost my mother to suicide when I was only eight years old. This set the stage for years of personal healing and self-exploration, which led me to want to help others. From early on in my healing path, I had a desire to help others in the way that other healers had helped me.

  • How much is a session or program?

My fees vary, depending on the type of session or program. Please check out my offerings page for more details.

  • Do you offer a sliding scale?

At this time I do not offer a sliding scale in general, although I do offer multiple tiers and options of service for the various services I offer. There are times when a sliding scale is needed and I will make allowances, generally when a client is elderly or a non-working student. In this case, I offer up to two sliding scale spots per month.

  • Are your sessions and programs in-person or virtual?

I offer virtual sessions and programs for your convenience.

  • Do you accept insurance?

Unfortunately, I do not accept insurance, however, some health insurance companies will reimburse you for hypnotherapy and life coaching services. Check with your insurance company to find out if you qualify.

  • Do you work with drug addiction or alcoholism in any of your sessions?

No, I do not work with drug addiction or alcohol dependency issues in my work at all. I am not a licensed addiction counselor, therefore I am not qualified to work with these complex issues. If you have issues with addiction or alcoholism, please seek the support of a qualified professional.

  • How many sessions will it take for me to get the results that I am seeking?

Each person brings different issues and challenges to our work together, and each one needs their own pacing. That being said, over the last 22 years of working with clients, I have found that those who commit to a program achieve much better and much longer-lasting results than those who only do a session or two, which is why I offer focused programs.

  • How do I book an appointment with you?

To book a one-time single session or to complete an application for a mentorship program, check out my offerings page.

  • Isn’t your work with Shamanism cultural appropriation?

Cultural appropriation is the adoption or use of elements drawn from a minority culture and used by a dominant culture without permission. It is a critical issue and warrants attention. Many indigenous shamans were called by their spirits to spread their teachings to the Western world and thus often traveled for days, even weeks, to reach destinations in the Western world. They knew the fate of our species and, most importantly, this sacred earth depended on the human race waking up. They had tools, gifts, and medicines to heal the human body, heart, and spirit, and were guided to share them with the world.

Today, many Westerners travel to the native places of these indigenous shamans to receive healing and renew their bodies and spirits.

Does connection with spirit belong to any one culture or person?

Does making that connection belong to one specific culture?

Is our world best served when we are in deep connection and inquiry with the workings of this Earth?

Does it assist me and those I work with to connect with their higher selves and their ancestral roots, and thus heal and elevate the Earth?

It is from these questions I arrive at this work and continue sharing and learning. As hunter-gatherers, our ancestors, regardless of where they came from, shared communion with the Earth, sky, and sun spirits.

The indigenous peoples remember and keep this sacred relationship alive as an operating template when the rest of us are ready to REMEMBER. I maintain studies with both Western and indigenous teachers who listen and understand we all benefit when we are deeply connected with ourselves and the natural world in which we live and bear responsibility for its care.
